 Fishing Our Northern Waters

Whether you're after walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass or crappie, you'll find them all here with a trophy fish
in all species possible!

You have many lakes to choose from and 100's of miles of waterways to find your days catch.  Kabetogama, Namakan,
Sand Point and Crane lakes are the most accessible and the beautiful Ash River flows into Kabetogama and Namakan.
You can portage into Rainy Lake at Kettle Falls and access another huge expanse of water!  The Ash River and Sullivan Bay
are well known or excellent walleye, crappie and smallmouth fishing!

THESE FISH WERE ALL CATCH & RELEASE

All area resorts and convenience store sell gasoline and bait and all resorts offer lodging &
boat and motor packages for rent. See our LINKS page for web sites with area information.

THERE ARE NO MOTOR RESTRICTIONS for boaters who can travel freely along the remote, un-crowded
50-mile-long system of lakes.  Anglers fishing Voyageurs National Park will find walleye, northern pike,
smallmouth bass, sturgeon and crappie.  For the more adventurous, try one of VNP's
interior lakes and fish for lake trout, northern pike, largemouth bass, crappie and muskie.

To fish the Ontario waters of Namakan, Sand Point, Rainy Lake and other Ontario lakes, you will need to obtain a
Remote Access Border Crossing permit to enter these waters. You will need an Ontario Non-Resident Fishing License
which is obtainable at most ports of entry. Additionally, you will need to purchase Canadian bait if you fish with live bait.
